thank you everyone for birthday wishes, cards, presents and calls. it was a real blessing to have so many people think of me from so far away.
we had a great time... lots of swimming, seaworld (which is an aquarium here), a water park, shopping and good food. through the wonderful time we had together, God was working in me a great deal, my birthday gift. He made me deal with some things that i was struggling with. it was some serious stuff, but God's good and i find myself at a different place today than i did during the weekend. the Lord gave me a few passages in scripture during this time, Psalm 37: 4-7, continually going through 1 John, Philippians 4: 6-7... there is more, but these are some. then on the way home the Lord spoke to my heart through this song. it is by vineyard and it spoke to me exactly in the way i need Him to speak to me...
If You say go...
If You say go, we will go
If You say wait, we will wait
If You say step out on the water
And they say it can't be done
We'll fix our eyes on You and we will come
Your ways are higher than our ways
And the plans that You have laid
Are good and true
If You call us to the fire
You will not withdraw Your hand
We'll gaze into the flames and look for You
What a testimony if we could say this of our lives and our hearts toward the glory of God. amazing. the Lord asked me to step out of the water when He asked me to come here... He tells me to go at times and tells me to wait at times... oh to have this as my testimony...
i'm going through a series with Louie Giglio about God's glory. it is unbelievably good. God really gifted him with some good preaching. i really am enjoying learning about God's glory and what that means. i'm only on the second cd with 6 more to go... can't wait to continue it.
this weekend as we were swimming, A asked me to tell her the story of Jesus dying on the cross. she really likes to read that story and likes for me to talk about it. when i told the story she stopped me when i talked about how there was an earthquake and the curtains tore in half... she asked how if Jesus was on the cross and He was dead, how could He make an earthquake happen from heaven. woah deep. i was like seriously you're only three.... so i tried to the best of my abilities to explain the trinity and how it happened to a three year old. she was satisfied with my answer, but i couldn't get past the fact that she asked that question. i don't know if i'm ready for theological debates with her as she gets older. :)
please pray for...
* A as she is growing and asking such good questions. pray the Lord will continually grow her into a godly woman.
* E as the Lord is working through some things in my heart. i want to go at it the way the Lord wants me to deal with it and have Him lead the way.
* people who were effected by the earthquake. pray that the Lord will reveal Himself to them and that His spirit will rain down on the people.
* visa process is on the way. pray that it will come out quickly.
