Connections

on monday, i had my book club. i have about 4-5 national women come over. we are reading "every women's battle" and have a discussion. it's been such a blessing and i love meeting with these hungry girls every week. we not only discuss the book, but we have had some really deep theological conversations, that not only challenged them, but me.... so on monday we talked about "the fall". we read through genesis chapters 1-3. we found all the repetitive words and phrases... and i shared the foreshadowing of Christ. i also got to just go keep in the first blood that was shed for the ones that sinned in the Garden of Eden. it was such an enriching time.

then today... i got to sit in on an AWESOME storytelling of the gospel. it was two hours long, but no one was bored, KM, was so good at telling it. it started with the question, "why do you call it Good Friday when your prophet died?" man, i loved how he not only told the gospel story, but he went back to Moses and the fall and explained all the symbolisms and how everything connects. i just sat there praying for those listening as he told the story to 6-7 nonbelievers. they were enthralled. it was silent as he so articulately told these stories. one lady was taking notes as to where to find all the references... another lady was talking about how her dad has a bible somewhere in the house and she wanted to go home and check it for herself. wow...

this is the season to remember why we believe what we believe. do we do and go to the things we do because that's just what we do every year about this time... or do we know and believe with all the fibers in our body about the truth of the events that occurred this week over 2000 years ago?

please pray for the believers here. it is such a great time to share why we celebrate what we do. pray that they will be bold and tell the whole story when asked instead of just a flimsy answer. i mean the whole story like the 2 hour one that was told today... to connect from back when to the cross to now... people love stories... this is the only story worth it... please pray!!!
