it's nothing that has to do with life and death, but it would be very helpful...
i am currently trying to renew my teaching certificate. it has been expired for almost 5 years which means it is a lapsed certificate. currently if i want to get my certificate renewed i need to go and take 9 credit hours relating to education. now i am not going for my type 73 certification, which is school counseling, but a lot of the classes that i am taking overlap with those courses that i would need if i were to get my type 73. the problem is it wouldn't be available until this semester is over. so that's one way to go... hoping they will take the classes even though i am not going for my type 73.
the other light at the end of the tunnel as the lady on the regional office said is that there is currently a "lapsed certificate" bill going through the house to be passed. she said that the next time they meet it will be april 17 and then hopefully soon it will pass. this bill will override my need to take any classes and i would just have to pay the fees to get my certificate.
so this is my prayer!!! please pray that the bill will pass, if not for me, for others in my position. also if that doesn't pass quick enough, that they will take my classes that i have been taking. once i pay the fees and show evidence of schooling then i don't have to wait for a certificate, i'm in the system!! so please pray for this to go through!!
